Mobile Apps
What is a mobile app?
API is the abbreviation of Application Programming Interface. Usually people simply talk about an app. An app is primarily intended for use on a smartphone or tablet. We build custom apps for both the Android and iOS operating systems. We also supply the UX design. Are API links needed to display data from other systems in the app? Then we’ll build those, too. You can have a mobile app developed as a native app, a web app or a hybrid app. No idea what the difference is? We will gladly explain below.
Native app | Web app | Hybrid app
A native app is developed for a specific platform (e.g. Android or iOS). As a user, you should always download this app from the Google Play Store or the AppStore. After installation, you can use this app on your smartphone or tablet.
A web app is basically a mobile version of a website. The website will then be built ‘responsive’, which means that it will also be displayed well on other devices than just the PC or laptop. The content of the website then scales with the size of the screen. A web app does not need to be downloaded, but can be accessed via the internet browser.
A hybrid app is basically a web app, but can use a number of functions of your smartphone.

Linking software
When developing a mobile app, we not only pay a lot of attention to the ease of use and appearance, but also to the systems and information sources to be linked, because this is an important pillar for the success of an app. This requires experience and expertise in linking software (both new and older software) and internal & external databases. HybrIT can play a key role in this through our many years of experience with complex integration platforms.

Cases
Below are two recent projects. View the projects.
House of Apps
The Omgevingsapp has been converted to the latest React Native version. As a result, House of Apps now manages the push notifications itself, the speed of the app has been increased and the backend is structured so that it only stores useful data.
PON Power
A customer portal and mobile app to see where equipment and machines are - based on address data or GPS - and what the maintenance history is. Employees can keep track of their mechanics' fleets and thus offer more efficient maintenance to their customers. Customers can log in to view their equipment with links to product pages.
Volkswagen
By building API's linked to a mobile app, it is possible for drivers to schedule an servicing appointment with their voice via Google Assistant.
